Bicycles can be more than just an exercise or transportation piece. For a lot of us, bikes allowed us to have our first taste of freedom. We explored riding to the end of the block initially, leading to AROUND the block! Then we dared to leave the "nest" and go even further. Before you knew it, you had your first taste of independence to explore, and explore we did!!!! For anyone who's experienced this, you know the memories created and how strong they're tied to the bike. Now a days, simply seeing a classic bike can transport you back to your childhood! A time machine of sorts. For a few lucky ones of us, we've either been able to hold on to that bike over the years or have happened to scoop up a "classic" at a rummage or swap meet. BUT of course, with the years gone by, some TLC is needed. That's where we come in.

If you have an old bike you'd like to bring back to life or want to make that old Schwinn shine and sparkle again, you're in luck. Trek Bicycle Store Racine is now offering bicycle restoration services! This is more than a typical overhaul, it includes de-rusting any chrome components, sourcing era correct replacement parts if/when needed, and giving far greater attention to detail towards the preservation and repair of the existing components versus replacing them.

What our services include:

Tearing the bicycle down to bare frame and cleaning the frame and fork.
Cleaning, polishing, and lubricating all parts/components
Cleaning and repacking headset, hubs, and bottom bracket with high quality grease
Minor paint touch-up
Polish frame and fork
Replace parts and components as needed
Reassembly
Wheel truing/re-lacing

What our services DO NOT include:

Complete paint jobs
No Replating
No tube welding

Every bike will be different on how much love it will need to be brought back to its former glory. That being said, we ask you to bring your bike in for a proper estimate on the cost of your restoration.
